Apparently his nasal discharge doesn’t have blood in it anymore- small wins! Vet sent me this ❤️

Better than a small win, M. The blood will probably have been from breaking blood vessels with the strength of his coughing. Not only has he stopped breaking new blood vessels, he's stopped reopening weak ones which he had already damaged. That sounds like a huge improvement to me.

Now go and lose yourself concentrating on not drowning. Where are our pictures!?

I understood that bloody nasal discharge is not that unusual with vile pneumonia and it is very good news that it has stopped. You must be exhausted and totally wired about it all now though @Michen. Really horrible time but hopefully when you get back home you can start to help Boggle find a good recovery. I am sure that will be possible over time. Enjoy the diving as much as you can in the meantime! x

Been abroad so missed all this...2 very quick things...

His bill would be Double in NY, having worked at one of the above mentioned clinics ;)

I'm going to try dig out a racing video of a filly who had very similar symptoms, who we considered euthanising many times over and who ended up with a rib resection as her pneumonia was so bad that we were draining via chest tubes. Salvage as a broodmare was our aim. She won her very first race as a 3yo....

Yeah I am trying my best! I’d say I can shove it in a draw and not think about it all 75% of the time but the other 25% isn’t great. Had a dolphin surface a foot from my face and look right at me, suddenly there’s tears cascading down my face and I have no idea why, all I can say is how awful it is that so many get slaughtered through our disgusting fishing practices every year 🙈🤷‍♀️

Granted that’s something I’d probably usually cry about but not quite like that!

Thank you- I hope so. I’ll steal some off my “dive buddy”, I haven’t been taking any as kind of had to just be in the moment! Though might jump in with a camera today.

They have also rescoped- fluid looks much better. Re ultrasounded and the lungs are the same but no worse. So that’s encouraging.

Feel like we just need to focus on the clinical signs rather than anymore diagnostics at this point.

So pleased he’s getting more stable and lots of more positive signs. I’ve been checking in regularly for updates - much like a lot of the Bog followers on here. Go Bog - he’s a proper little fighter.

All sounding positive 🤞🏻

(Worth remembering that Miners Frolic almost died less than a year before he competed at London, so even the worst case scenarios can be quickly forgotten when it comes to horses bouncing back!)

Oh man! Bummer. Well, at least you got some in! The universe can have a twisted sense of humor I swear!

I know! Totally priveleged problems to have but OMG this has now developed into me wrapped in two duvets in a dark room with the air con off and STILL shivering. Slightly delayed but a sympathy fever for my horse.

Give me a break universe please 🙈🙈🙈

Not surprised your immune system is shot after what you have been going through. At least you and Boggle will be able to compare notes now;););)

Not being pessimistic - but have you taken covid test?
At least Bog is being generous in giving it to you.
Hope you feel better soon, if you have a temperature making you shiver, take OFF the duvets, got to get your temperature down, paracetamol regularly.

Thanks guys! I can only laugh. Taken plenty of drugs but I struggle to equalize on a normal day so I don’t think I have a hope, annoyingly it’s a site where you need to descend quickly otherwise you are pushed by the current into the blue. It’s ok it’s not like it’s the best dive site in Socorro today.. they’ve seen schooling hammerheads, tiger sharks… sound so boring 🙈

Did a Covid test- negative! That’s something at least.

I’m not even hungry which is the worst part, I could at least be dry but with a bit plate of their awesome cookies.

Gosh. Horses really do find the most interesting ways to try and end themselves.

Great news re x rays I hope she continues to improve! Is she still coughing? How are her lungs?
Don't they just! My boy is still recovering from aspirational pneumonia from sniffing through his straw pellet bed... and now has an 'exotic rare bacterial infection'.......... he hasn't left his field since November other than local hacking, so where the bloody hell has he picked that up from?! sending lots of healing vibes to you and Boggle....😘
