Fantastic update; enjoy every moment of being back out and about and really well done on such a thorough respiratory rehab. Many years ago I had a horse with vile bacterial pneumonia - we thought he would die, but he survived. I was told he would always have respiratory issues but could probably be a quiet hack (he never had been quiet in any way lol!). I threw everything at him, moved yards to a better situation (not suggesting that is needed for you!) reviewed every aspect of management, took on veterinary and complementary stuff and he NEVER coughed again. :) He went on to event at a low level (my level not his hahahahaha) and did everything with great brio until I lost him in a horrible freak accident. I barely ever thought about him having had such a horrible time once he was fully recovered but it did take time. Well done @Michen and Boggle and hope Bog is on the straight and narrow again now lol.

Easy to get a video of the “Boggle strut” from the ground. I wonder why he has neck arthritis 🙄 Will he ever change age 11? Probably not, wouldn’t want him to either!

Still doing some long reining hacks along with ridden ones to help him build muscle. At least that’s what I’m telling myself, it’s actually because I enjoy the exercise and when I’ve ridden Beau I tend to long rein Bog!

I just love the attitude of a horse that has to be long reined in a pelham 😁😆🤣

Omg ycbm I have been long reining him in a loose ring snaffle the entire time until now, I’d had enough. It’s fine except one particular route when we do it with company and I just do not have sufficient breaks! I decided yesterday I was done with Boggle dictating things and put the Pelham in and it was SO much more pleasant.

He is too competitive to be long reined in company in a snaffle down really steep Colorado mountain roads 🤣

So many holes in that horses training and all my fault 🤣

How’s your mum doing @Michen ?

Wondering when I'm going to find an American husband so she can move here and live in the "pool house";)

She's doing good, thanks for asking.. I'll see her next week! And Bob is loving being back in proper countryside again, that was 100% the best thing for him even without the necessity.

Bog finally got to leave the barn for the first time in 3.5 months to NOT go to the vets. Went hacking with a friend, 1 hr 30. Steep, hilly, lots of logs and ditches for him to jump (he could have stepped over them but obviously not 🤣). Cantered, trotted.

Felt totally and completely normal and fit and he was SO happy to be back out doing something! Overjoyed (him and me!!).

The views weren’t bad either!

He’s having his neck injected next week. I’m a little in two minds as bar the cracking and being slightly less keen to carrot stretch as far to his flank in one direction, he feels great. But I guess it’ll be good to do it and see if I feel any difference, then at least I’ll know if it’s bothering him? I don’t like to inject without good reason. He will also get flexed etc to check his hocks.

It is. Hampshire where I was is equally beautiful and pretty but this is a different kind of beauty I guess. It’s very grounding!

I don’t know if it’s that, or the weather, the ability to do the things I love (ride, ski, dive, hike) with much more ease or what but I am 100% a happier person here.

I really think the weather plays a huge part.
