Boggle- USA bound!

Really hope you see some improvement when you see Atlas.
This must feel quite unreal. I know when I caught up yesterday, I couldn't believe what I was reading. Such unbelievably bad luck.
Sending positive thoughts (from Oxford) x

ooh

I posted something else. Then saw the next post and deleted it immediately cause I had not watched the video and thought it was perhaps not good. So this is it again.

I was watching the good doctor and it’s a bit emotional so I watched your video with this song as the background and I felt it was fitting to the moment.

Alright. I’m gone. I posted that video before I took this one. I think I might just sit and rock in a corner again.

Oh Atlas, living up to your name.

I just fricking can’t.

That’s joyful. Dare we all dream he’s out of the woods?

He still looks a little stiff all over doesn't he. But he wants to move and doesn't have that confused look. It's so good he's moving again as he should. I notice his round belly, is that related to any of this? He looks....bloated. not fat as his quarters and neck still look the same.

I don’t think so, he’s definitely bulked out weight wise which I haven’t been thrilled about but haven’t really had anyway to control it. I agree at first he looked kinda distended, we even wondered if he was colicing.

The more I’m letting him move/walk him the better he’s getting but I don’t want to overdo it so will look again tomorrow.

That makes sense
I did go and look at another video for comparison. He was clearly pleased to see you!

Yeh. But gosh, why?

I feel so convinced on the EPM. I keep thinking back to Boggle who was in so much distress when his thing happened, Atlas once hydrated really wasn’t. I just don’t think he was in the kind of pain that would indicate trauma/neck stuff/whatever.

Boggle the minute he was stabilized was back in business and trotting around despite being super wobbly and being an idiot, he was staggering around whilst behaving like he was ready to go XC. Christ I mean that horse’s spirit and will to live was unbelievable whatever he faced. Atlas has been far more… ok things don’t feel right I’m just gonna… do nothing. Which I think is why the barn didn’t notice anything ridiculously good because I asked for him to be left and it wasn’t until I led him out and he started moving that he was like “oh yeh cool.” And then got his little head toss thing going and just seemed really cheerful.

He obviously doesn’t look right but this is a horse that 7 days ago we had to use a rope behind him to get him in from the pasture. His front legs were totally crossed over and he could only walk sideways. Now he looks more stiff than neuro if you didn’t know what you were looking at.

And he’s just being so cute, I’ve had my arms around him for the last hour and he seems genuinely thrilled that I’m there.

i text my friends from the weekend with the video and they replied with “sorry about the car” 🤣

If he can’t even be ridden again or rather at all but can be a pasture pet I’ll take that, he so deserves it. I just want him to be a happy little chap.

Oh M he certainly looks brighter in those videos, and safe to say someone really missed you 🧡 I know he’s not fully out of the woods just yet but fingers crossed it’s onwards and upwards from here on out 🤞🏻

Yeah my friend just saw the videos and is really really pleased. She says EPM can definitely act like that.

Obviously a full recovery with no neuro defects is still small. Which will be super sad, I was excited about our future but maybe it’ll just look a little different to what I hoped.

Just thrilled that maybe he has one, and at least I got to sit on him a few times 💕💕💕💕💕💕

Could it maybe have been a funny field fall and now the acute pain is passed but he’s still feeling a bit sore / stiff?
It’s fantastic that he’s looking so much better. Long may it last.

Oh Michen, I’m so glad to see your update. You’ve really been through the wringer so I’m glad you can relax and have a bit of time to process what you’re working with and have some Atlas cuddles.

He’s such a dude and dare I say I’m glad his forelock is growing out 🫣😂 they need forelock to flick to make the head toss have maximum impact 😂
