Boggle- USA bound!

He looks like he has some good old style Morgan lines in him. He could fill in to be a chunky fellow.

He has whirlpool breeding which is supposedly an impressive thing! But he really does just look Iberian and the way he carries himself.

If only he’d get longer!

I'm not that familiar with the Morgan bloodlines by name TBH but he sure looks like one. He doesn't look like one with the Saddlebred infusion or if he has it, he doesn't show it. ;)

I wouldn't count on him getting much longer though. Morgans are know for being short coupled.

The driving type ones are super long!

Which he very much is not that type.

Thank you!! And yes I’ll watch the video but don’t expect too much haha.

He’s becoming an absolutely stunning little thing, and judging by his 4 year old.. energy he won’t be too quiet for me 🤣

I’m so glad he lived. He was worth the gigantic vet bill to save.

And I’m keeping the mini for now. Lol.

If they're the fine harness type of driving ones they will be because of the Saddlebred breeding that was "snuck" in before DNA testing. Fancier trot and headset than the foundation types.

If you want to cut his mane do what's called a 'New Zealand pull'. Comb mane out, back comb small bit and cut at length you want it to be, do whole mane like this, won't look cut and you can easily plait it would you wish as not all the same length

He does look like the sort that will keep himself fit :D

Yes he’s currently body building his arse. And he needs to level out again. My friend came out to vaccinate and said he looks rather powerful and good luck 🤣

I go away for two weeks soon then I’ll resume the ground work when back, get a saddle fitter out and begin!

I guess it's been a little while since an update but I wanted to share the first pic of Atlas under saddle! It's not been the easiest couple of months. May was a bit of a shocker as I found out I was...pregnant. Completely unplanned, and my initial thought was how quickly can I have a termination. That quickly changed and despite it being a huge curveball, partner and I were very onboard. Sadly a long, drawn out process began where the pregnancy had a question mark over it's viability and eventually clearly wasn't. Except I didn't miscarry fully naturally/easily so that required a surgery, and a $4,000 ish bill despite insurance.

It was a really sad, distressing time. To get pregnant unplanned and be so shocked and get your head around it, decide you want this, and then lose it anyway was just pretty cruel :( But of course Atlas with his soft nose, cheeky demeanor and his laid back presence was a huge help.

In that time I stopped all plans to get on Atlas. I did head off on an amazing ranch holiday with my best friend soon post op, and got the pleasure of riding an absolute fire cracker of a QH x arab mare. An american Boggle! She was great fun, gave me lots to smile about and got me back on track mentally. And that gave me the motivation to restart Atlas.

Then.. we had plans to move to San Francisco for OH's job. Which then became my job too, an awesome opportunity financially and career wise. I get the offer and on the same day my poor OH becomes collateral damage from some tech start up c*** and his job is no longer a thing.

That raised some tough decisions, because we both love Colorado and it's beautiful, green, lush and just an amazing place to be at the moment. But, I know how it is for 6 months of the year and it's not this. The bay area has lots to offer, and at this moment it makes sense for me to be there for MY career (and his, as that's where the type of roles for him are concentrated).

So, we are heading off! At the end of August, Atlas and Pepper in tow. I don't love moving Atlas again, frankly it sucks especially with the EPM. But it is what it is, he has been a picture of health and he gets everything needed to keep him that way. I think he will actually love the bay area and it's temperate climate. I will be so, so sad to leave my barn and my home here but things move on and I'm excited to make some awesome new memories with my lovely young horse, best little doggie and of course "D", who has completely flipped my life upside down for the better :)

Some photos from the last few weeks! The bra photo is where my horse was so vertical on the steepest uphill I’ve ever ridden, the horn got under my bra and sna
snapped it clean off, a very funny moment for us all and particularly the cowboys!

The most incredible time, I think the last 8 weeks we've been in the UK, Italy, Vienna then travelling around here with Pepper into Moab (Utah), Telluride, Steamboat Springs (Colorado), and Wyoming for the ranch trip.

So lots of fun and great times mixed in with really hard and sad ones, as usual with this rollercoaster of a life.

One day, things will be quiet and boring and I can't wait :D

Fantastic update - I popped onto this thread the other day wondering if I'd missed one. Atlas looks so tall and grown up under saddle. I'm surprised you didn't treat yourself to the mare too :p

All just looks great :)

It looks amazing, you have SUCH an adventurous life! The look in that mares eye tells me she is the sort of steed you would enjoy 🤣
What sort of work does your OH do? (please feel free to ignore if too intrusive of a question) and excuse my ignorance but is SanFran hugely different in terms of the equestrian offering to Colorado?

Thank you! He’s grown up so much. Definitely bigger and feels a perfect size for me. I am so so fond of him and just love his nature and attitude to everything. He’s smart, so curious, laid back but with a good dose of sass and fire
Lovely to see you all doing so well, despite having more turbulence thrown your way. You are such a warrior. Keep smiling lovely girl, and all the best to you and your tribe 💖

Thank you so much 💕💕

He started and sold a software company, so he’s only ever worked for himself as a CEO and founder. And he’s basically been retired the last 3 years 🤣 Has an engineering degree from MIT (nerd).

So he’s looking for product manager type roles. Trouble is he’s kind of under and over qualified so it’s not as easy as you’d hope. Especially in the Silicon Valley world where it’s all about connections. But something will come up. He’s smart and resourceful and more than anything we both care about work life balance and us having the right kind of roles, especially if we intentionally try for the kid thing.

Bay Area equestrian scene seems pretty mixed, I will definitely need to drive a bit for herd turnout and pasture which is an absolute must. We will probably end up living in Marin which is north of SF across the bridge and where all the wine country is, Napa, Sonoma etc. it’s a beautiful area!
