Boggle- USA bound!

Highs and lows of life. Just had Atlas checked, so sound. Looks great. Passed every neuro test except walking up and down a really, really steep hill. It’s not new, he’s always looked a bit odd but because he had always been cleared of being neuro and this hill is a different steep to anything he was moving on in Colorado, I put it down to a young baby horse just learning some balance. But as it’s not been improving I had the vet look.

Vet is very adamant that it’s more than that.

So I have some really tough decisions to make that I guess, I maybe always knew I’d have to. Ultimately while the vet said she’d be totally comfortable riding him on the flat, arena, flat trails etc I’m just not sure I could ever be ok with that.

Mainly is where on earth do I retire a young horse to that gets overweight so easily, while still ensuring he has tons of enrichment and a great life.

Always a rollercoaster eh!

Congratulations on the good news!

Have commented on your other thread re Atlas. Fingers crossed you can figure out a way forward that you & Atlas are both happy with but it is a difficult one & I don’t envy you trying to make that choice xxx

Congratulations 🥳🎉 lovely news.

Have I remembered correctly that at one point you thought a relationship maybe wasn’t for you with your lifestyle? Just goes to show what the right person can do and how they can enhance your life. 😊

Sorry to hear about another hiccup with Atlas.

Huge congratulations, everything happens for a reason! Speaking as someone much older, who has just celebrated 40 years of marriage, I remember thinking at the start of our relationship "this isn't how things were meant to go" but equally feeling if I didn't give it a chance and make the changes necessary to allow things to progress, I would live to regret it. Now, I know how much of a mistake that would have been.

I may not have got the pony but..A happy update to share with you guys! Remember how you all convinced me to indeed go to Arizona after I lost Boggle?

We broke every single dating rule imaginable, living together almost immediately. And we so nearly didn’t meet because I was not meant to be in Arizona and he was about to start an MBA at Oxford University and move to the UK.

But we did and now we live in this beautiful state with our two dogs, the ginger pony is still very much apart of our lives and despite a year that really could have damaged us together, it only ever strengthened us. He is the kindest, most gentle natured and brilliant soul I’ve ever met and I consider myself beyond lucky 🍀.

I don’t really have many decent photos of us without a cap on or a dog somewhere in it but here’s a couple, including a rather serious one of us at a wedding!

Oh and- Atlas approved of the ring 💍💕. It’s possible that I may have had an idea it was coming and slipped a ring of my own into my pocket when we went for that hike, one which has Boggles hair entwined through its band and a tiny tiny diamond.

Oh my goodness!! Congratulations!!!!!

I just clicked on the other thread that you'd used the word "fiance" and then belted over here 🤣

We've just returned from a holiday which included a visit to our honeymoon place. We bravely went to the hotel and showed the receptionist a photo taken from our balcony. The receptionist called a young man who took us to the nearest available room and Mr M took another photo of the same view.
The first photo was taken 53 years ago.
I admit, I cried.
No-one knows where life will take you @Michen
Congratulations.
