Seen a few posts up looking for a loan horse for a month..who’s going to move their horse for you to own them for a month? Seems to unworth the trouble?? A step further than just summer

We often get requests from people who ask if we have any horses leaving training that they can have on loan for the summer for the common riding then send back to us. For a start we never do summer loans and second we never, ever, ever loan or sell a horse that will go common riding. We value our horses too much for that nonsense.

guess you are entertained more than ever over there!

We get a lot of "do you mind if we nip in and see the yard? It will just be me, my husband, half the village and whoever follows me on fb." "It's my xx's x0th bday and they would love to come visit the yard. Would it be possible?"

Funnily enough they come in more often after we win a big race. We don't tend to let people as it just opens up a floodgate of people expecting to be allowed into the yards willy nilly. We direct them to our yearly public open day.

Oh and then you get the "we are part of a 3500 person syndicate, can we come see the yard seeing as we are owners?"

I was the one holding the phone for the livestreams of the Sunday. I did tell people what I was doing hence why I was sitting on the fence and no one else was allowed to ans still people kept talking to me 😂

Because we do loan some people seem to think that we will loan the ones even with a price tag because they can give them amazing homes.

We get people turning up during lambing wanting us to break off & give them a guided tour (I blame the TV). We lamb inside & hygiene is a huge part of it. The lambing shed is cleaner than some people's kitchen (mine!) and we are so not open to the public. The worst are locals who have a bored visitor that they expect me to entertain for an hour... " but I've been telling my sister all about your wonderful system...". I need a notice on the gate "Beware, humans can be dangerous when short of sleep."

You basically ride the boundaries of your town following someone with a flag. It is to ward off the English. Its done at mostly break neck speed with little regard for the ground conditions and the horses, many ride outs have been know to canter and gallop up the streets through the town. I would far rather go to Appleby than to a ride out.

Putting the feelers out for someone who would be interested in part loaning my shire mare.

Due to having a baby I don’t have the time to give her the pampering that she loves. xxx is a 17h shire cross Clydesdale and is one of the sweetest mares you’ll meet. I am looking for someone who is wanting to get back into the care/pampering side of horses as xx can’t be ridden.

She will stand for hours to be bathed, groomed, pampered in all ways and will happily follow you round the arena and have a play. She is very easy to do (catch, lead, groom). xx has no malice in her at all she’s just a big gentle giant who wants to be pampered like the princess she is ????

Nahla is stabled on a lovely quiet yard in xx I am flexible on days (min 2) and on your days you would be responsible for any stables jobs. A small financial contribution would be required to ensure I find someone who is serious and will love her as much as I do ??

on ad says 25 per week

Had to read that twice before I picked up the 'Non-ridden' bit! £25 a month maybe, but £25 a week for all the hard work? And that's a LOT of horse to groom and bathe!

Looking to buy...... Seller must be happy for horse to feature heavily on Tiktok and to stay in touch.

Re the first part - if you own the horse you can project images of him onto the Houses of Parliament and launch a MyNewHorse-TV channel if you want. Fill your boots. But the second part? WTF! Compulsory ongoing adoration online required? No thanks! I love staying in touch with all my previous horses but I have never before seen that stipulated as a condition of sale!

I suppose that's one way to let people know that you're desperate for more followers/subscribers.

I was offered 3 when I was looking. 1 already laid off for a year, 2 others with much more recent injuries. I wouldn't expect to get a free horse from a retraining centre though, unless it was hugely challenging to ride (and then I wouldn't want it! )

I can get them for free too, some have had injuries, some not but any injured ones will have been treated/ rested and ready to start on. Not allowed to sell, though, but can rehome with trainer's approval.

Hi All. Looking for any equestrian women who would be interested in testing out a whole range of whips. On ME not on horses!! I already have a local equestrian lady but looking for a second. Please message me for details. Genuine request. Thanks, Jason
