This has popped up on local horsey FB page.

Roll up, roll up. Someone to 'bring on' a naughty pony who must pay a specified trainer for the privilege of having lessons on him.

Good opportunity for the right person! I’m looking for a small, confident, capable rider to exercise/school my pony. *** is 13.2 hands, Welsh Section B - rider is to pay for 1 lesson per week from *****. *** is not a novice ride - he’s been to pony club, cross country, pole clinic, jumping clinic , farm ride the forest. Fig needs bringing on - he needs someone who is 100% committed - this is a great opportunity without the hassle of buying. We are based in **** p.m if interested! thanks
Idk. If there’s no charge for the use of the pony and it can be taken to PC and so on I think that’s ok. You’d be paying a lot of money for a 13.2 PC pony and small brave children like riding that sort of pony.

Does a 150% bombproof, completely saintly and always patient SHETLAND actually exist?

This is Heidi. The sweetest kindest pony. Currently teaching her 10th child to ride. She’s 5 here with my daughter. I bought her as a yearling. Sold on when outgrown but have kept in touch. Has never put a foot wrong in her life!

They most certainly do when they have been brought up properly from the word go and haven't been treated like toys.

I don’t know it’s all about being treated like a toy. I have one who was a brood mare for an traveller family until age 8, then broken to ride. Family we bought her off treated her like a normal pony, so do we. She’s basically a very bossy honorary mother to my kids, quite happy to mete out her own discipline if she disapproves of absolutely anything they are doing. She has dumped them (repeatedly if needed), dragged them through hedges, run off home and been a challenging, educational ride. Kids get a free pass until they are 4, then she starts on them.

My son has been asked to help with a few others. None had been treated like toys, all had strong personalities and didn’t suffer fools gladly. All of them have been perfect for adults, they can just see a weak spot in a child and use it as an educational experience!

There have been a few posts I think are a bit ridiculous recently.

I've tried to enter a class I'm not eligible for. OUTRAGEOUS! DON'T YOU WANT MY MONEY!!
I've tried to sell my place in the event to my mate but YOU WON'T LET ME.

Maybe my perspective as an event organiser makes me feel jaded by these sorts of complaints, knowing that no one set of T&Cs or processes suits everyone, but they are generally there for a reason!

I spotted one locally this morning. 15hh cob gelding needing a sharer 1-2 days a week due toowners work commitments. He's nervous and needs someone confident. Yard duties required and financial contribution to be discussed. And oh, he's un-ridden.

Oh that is delusional level mad! Please pay me to work as my groom and look after my stressy unridden horse if you are a good enough handler to cope with him.

I do understand the optimists hoping someone will educate their young horse for free, because some people want experience to improve their own horses handling/training and riding skills. It is a long shot but I have done that. And others I know have. But this is just ludicrous.

Saw one yesterday for a 'temporary' share for a horse post-surgery only able to do walk work but would be able to do more eventually. Maybe that would be fine but the temporary bit seemed to give away probably sharer wouldn't be kept on once things improved. And maybe that would be fine but also... financial contribution wanted. To do the (I think probably very important!) post-surgery rehab work. Great!

I saw a companion pony for loan today who can’t move yards.
So basically someone to pay for the keep of the owners companion 🤷‍♀️

It's been some hours since I first saw this, and I still can't get my head around it. How, just how? Is it a magic pony? Capable of being with your horse in spirit?
Is there a distance limit to how far away your horse can be, and still be able to feel the presence of this pony? What if the pony sends its spirit to someone else's horse?

Just loved this!! I am imagining my own companion pony standing out there sending "companionable" vibes and getting £5/10/20 per day!!
