Just saw someone rehoming a dog
Reason: pulls on the lead + doesn’t like cats

I can’t get over pulls on lead 🤦🏻‍♀️

I mean, I've both known, met, and heard about some dogs who could pull as if they're about to rip the arm off your body, so I do know some dogs really can pull badly on the lead. Part of me wonders what the odds are for that they're really disclosing all their issues with the dog, but if that really are all the problems there is, presumably the dog could be trained to get better, and who knows, if proper training makes the dog more tired, maybe they also wouldn't bother as much about disliking cats anymore.

As @cauda equina said, probably better for the dog to get a new home sooner rather than later, since staying just means more time to practise their leash pulling.

Took me a while to get this one. You have to say it out loud.

Ooh, I quote like the sound of a reaper cushion. Not sure it would be well stuffed or comfortable to rest against but I suspect it will be stylish and suit a monochrome theme.

7 year old 16hh horse just come up for sale locally on Facebook. Sounds great as a BE 80/90 prospect until you get to

" had a neurectomy of the proximal hind suspensories a year ago. To reflect this, is offered at a greatly reduced price. Does have full sensation of her back legs and so is permitted to compete in BE, BD and BS.
Open to vet.
Mid to high 4figures."

Are people seriously able to get high 4 figures, approaching £10,000, for a horse which broke down when it was 6 years old?

Would you buy it? I wouldn't.

I saw that one. Awful. And surprised that this was from a yard I felt was reasonably sound. Unlike their horses… I was offered a similar mare for £1000. I turned her down. That mare never competed and was pts a couple of years after I passed on her

Yes I was very surprised at the yard offering it for sale. I should have mentioned that in my post, that it was an extremely reputable yard. I viewed the yard as a potential (and very expensive!) livery and turned it down partly on the fact that they wanted me to write on a board when I was going to do what with my horse for the week ahead, so they could plan. I don't know what I want to do with my horse until I wake up, see the weather and see how I feel!

Absolutely NOT ....I had one PTS for the same issue - never went to surgery as the suspensories were shot, no way would I have tried to sell on. Crazy

TB gelding, 6 year old
no health issues and clean limbs. Has raced.
does not want to be loved and cared for, he pulls quite the faces in the stable ... well in general. Although, does have moments where he puts his teeth away and enjoys a hug when no one is looking. Obviously so he doesn't ruin his street status.
He needs flat work but knows all basics and his leads.
Saint to hack perfect in heavy farm traffic.
knows very very little about jumping but super honest so far
He actually really seems to enjoy work once he’s tacked up and on the go
Nice horse for someone who's not terrified of a challenge. He’s just gone sour and got away with far too much but once you know him you don’t even notice him pulling a face.
He does wind suck. Absolutely no beginners even though he’s safe and quiet he would just get away with to much.

This horse sounds like he’s in so much pain and absolutely done with people

"Really sadly for sale as bought for myself to event but after breaking her in she does not enjoy being ridden.
If I had the time and money I would get her fully investigated by a vet but unfortunately I don’t so she is sold as a broodmare or as a project for someone else to investigate."

I've wouldn't absolutely condemn them for selling, depending on their personal circumstances, and at least there is full disclosure, but on what planet does someone pay £3500 for a horse with unidentified issues that can't be ridden at 4 years old?

Not a private individual- they're a business offloading . As usual I Googled the phone number -

[........] - xyz Farm is a specialized young horse training facility located in the scenic Derbyshire Dales. Run by [... and ...], the farm offers services such as breaking, backing, long-reining, and addressing behavioral issues in young horses.

Here at [..] Young Horse Specialists we predominantly offer long-reining, backing and breaking. We also offer the option of a two-week assessment to have horses that are already broken and are displaying concerning behaviour, or where owners are looking for a second opinion on a horse.
We are very passionate about giving young horses the best start to their life, and believe doing ‘something’ earlier rather than later is the main ingredient to producing a well-rounded, confident horse for the future, that is able adapt to new environments, competitions, clinics and stay away shows etc.

Can't afford the vet indeed! XC course, 2 schools, round pen, gallops, stable bigger than my house.

Probably don't own it either- will be selling on behalf of the owner so no comeback.
But if that is the case then it would explain why they're selling - the owner has run out of money after paying as much professional help as they can afford. Very sad, and a rather optimistic price, but I can't see that there's anything deliberately dodgy about it.

Good point.

Selling may be sensible but not at that price. A friend bought a horse with fewer question marks (they knew there was an issue and it was likely to come good but dealer did not want to spend any money) so not a totally dissimilar situation. She only paid £1.7K. Was easily sorted and then went from 90 to 2* in 2 seasons. Best £1.7 ever spent! Someone might get a bargain. But itwould need to be 'write-off-able' price with someone willing to PTS if necessary. The risk is a dodgy dealer sells on as ready to ride. Or unbacked 'with potential'. So I couldn't do it. But it's very hard if you run out of money and don;y know what to do with thre horse.

The horse looks lovely. I'd take a punt for £1k if I was looking. (Which I absolutely am not.) My dream colour, breed, size and gender!

20 years ago, I would have too! I feel for the owner if they are genuine (advert reads as owner selling, the background is less convincing). I'd worry about advertising anything with those issues because you don't know where it will end up or who it would hurt, at any price.
There is every chance they have put her up at that price to stop time wasters and people looking to drug up and sell, but they will actually accept a lot less if someone expresses real interest.
I hope you are right.

Ratface is not making fun of you, they've made a joke about the ads saying "be jumping a meter" (a gas meter, an electric meter...).
It is not possible to know you are dyslexic from your post, you write very well.

ETA : the "lack of full stop" comment is not about you either, it is about the long ad posted by TheChestnutThing. When it's a single sentence or if the sentences are separated by going to a new line, it is easy to understand but the ad is a long block of text without breaks or stops.
