That's pretty much what I'll be looking for when I'm back in the saddle, and the forum assured me that I'd have no problems finding one on loan.

That said, I'm looking for a hand or so smaller, I'm not so fussed about a few health niggles that need to be nursed along, and I'll be looking via word of mouth rather than FB.

I hope you find one!

But if someone posted on here looking to buy such a creature, what would the forum say they should be looking to pay?

OMG my favourite Vinted one so far... £40 for a 'bundle'.

A mystery bundle.

It's a black bag which may or may not have clothes in. Who knows because the one photo in the ad is literally just a photo of a bin bag with something in it.

Anyone fancy a gamble?!
A rubbish blag full of riding clothes or show jumping clothes I have no idea

I totally fail to understand why putting one pony on a lunge line in a field with other loose ponies it doesn’t get on with, then failing to keep the others away and having fighting ponies on the end of said rope…repeatedly…is something you’d want to share on Facebook.

Why would you do that in the first place?
What is there to gain, other than proving to the poor pony that had to defend itself that you, as the human, are completely useless at keeping it safe and it has to take matters into its own hooves?

I just love the ones where someone wants an opinion on a horse/their riding etc and end their post with something like "no nasty comments please" when there simply isn't anything polite to say!!!
Sometimes constructive criticism is wanted not rudeness It hunk is what they’re asking.

I cannot abide the people selling their ancient horses/dogs/pets in general! It really upsets me that somebody could extract all the useful life out of an animal then flog it. It is simply awful.
I agree, my horse was put up for sale for 850, advertised as a happy hacker. The facebook post had over 200 comments. I went two hours to get her and she had bruised soles, no farrier for five months, underweight and very depressed in general. She was also in a laminitic episode. It’s been 3 years now and she’s a totally different horse thanks to lots of love, in hand work and excellent physio, farrier and vet.

Thought this would be good for a giggle, inspired by the advert I just saw.

The poster wants someone to help break their two young cobs for 'the love it' (i.e. free), with the possibility of a loan of one when they've both been broken by the sharer!

The brass neck of some people really is incredible.
This is madness lol!!!

I completely agree did it say how old the two cobs are @MyDogIsAnIdiot or was there a photo

It seems 2 relatively new-ish HHO:ers have just discovered this thread, and replied to some posts posted on page 1, 2, and 3 of this thread back in 2014. MyDogIsAnIdiot who started this whole thread with the post Lauragreen85 had quoted, was last seen on HHO in April 2015, so I doubt you'll get an answer @Tinsel .

Not horse related but the comments are driving me mad so I'm venting here.

Local village Facebook page has two pictures of a damaged crash barrier. It has been squished by a HGV, on a tight 30mph bend, which you couldnt do at 30 in a car so really, 15mph bend. The barrier protects pedestrians from any vehicles struggling to navigate the tight bend.

The comments are "so lucky it didn't happen later or it would have been fatal"

What I want to type but won't...of course it wouldn't be fatal, there's a crash barrier there!! It would have been utterly terrifying, but the barrier has completely protected the pavement (and had anyone been on the pavement, they would have been scared, possibly scratched, but alive). The barrier hasn't even crumpled towards the pavement.

Thanks, I feel better now.

From a recruitment email for grooms.

Dressage yard.

Summer turnout only for these competition horses, so lots of hand grazing and walking etc (mental and physical well-being are priorities).

Firstly, mental and physical well being isn’t a priority if the only stimulation they get is hand grazing and a walk.

Secondly how much fun is that going to be for the groom? Sharp dressage horse walkies.

It’s bad enough when it’s a necessary due to injury but having to do it for several horses as daily routine must be grim.
