Found a poorly Millie this evening. Explosive diarrhoea and now on the floor of the stable looking very uncomfortable. Vet on the way.
Trying to distract myself because I’ve lost a horse to colic in the past and it strikes the fear of god in me ?

Oh no, fingers crossed that the vet can soon sort it.

Been through a colic here recently (ended up ok with just a single vet visit). My mare was on the floor playing dead when the vet arrived.

Its amazing how a bit of spasmodic colic can drop some of them. Fingers crossed its something easily remedied.

I hope the vet is with you now and able to treat this easily. I had one groaning in pain and sliding down the stable wall but she only needed one vet visit, in fact I think just knowing he was on the way made her feel better.

Thanks everyone. Heart rate, temp and gut sounds all fine. She’d got up by the time the vet came but still looked uncomfortable. Vet isn’t massively concerned at this stage. She’s had jabs of buscopan and bute and looked much more comfortable within minutes and was then looking for food. I’ve just come home for some tea and then I’m going to pop back and check her so will you update you again later.
She drives me mad and she’s a miserable old bag at times, but my god I love her!
