Neglected Horses - UPDATES

b_2_b - thanks for update!!! fully aware how busy vets are....just really hope the one that does attend..will have half a brain cell to agree to let organisation take them..TODAY!!

there was me worrying this am wheather or not to rug my lil mare up in lightweight as it's blowing a hoolie...and she feels the cold.....I did stick it on anyway....and I thought to myself...if only these poor horses had someone loving them as much as we all love our's......such a shame really is..

Oh and I know of a mare that is 45 has arthritus and still going and looking extreamly well for it as she has full care and she too has not alot of teeth....and yet she isn't in this condition.....

jay_d - well I agree that the horses need attention right now, but everyone actually wanted personal details of adress/phone number taken off to protect the person who posted them.. also so that the rescue would not be jeoperdised. We didn't want them taken down so we didn't break the T&C's

I havent seen what went on this morning as I had no access to internet, but am glad that andy's details have been removed because this is quite a sesitive case.

I'm just happy that BHS are on-site to try and remedy this and hopefully these horses will recieve whatever attention they need by this evening.

Fingers crossed everyone.
 
Am in contact with someone there, I believe still waiting for the vet and there has been no sign of owners.

I remember when Operation Esther was in full swing, they had a lot of stick thrown at them "mass hysteria was a word I heard a lot" but I say do whatever you can to be heard, if it makes a difference - brilliant - if it doesn't - you tried

so still no sign of owners....so they can't be checking on them much if at all then??.....what happened to at least twice a day checking on field kept animals??? anything can happen....
it's just soo wrong it really is.....

I just go by any posts with too many exclamation points for my poor tired eyes.


Accusations, posting swear words, franch debaucle etc to get the thread deleted when simply removing the persons personal details from posts would have been enough.

Anything that is not remotely constructive, rational, or necessary. Luckily most members have acted brilliantly, and its fantastic something is now being done, well done to them.
 
Very confusing at the moment, is there any updates, has the vet been? has the horses been removed? are the members still there?

The vet they called could be on an emergency call out to a horse that has slashed its self open or is having severe colic.. Who knows
 
because I suspect it might be the same vet charlie spoke to last night- hence not happy about coming out, I'd feel a bit nervous if I was the vet and think that my decision will have already been made for me (yes I know what we feel on that one!)

vet also may be waiting to ensure all press have gone home.
 
Just been informed that vet due to be there before 3. And HHO'er wants to say that BHS have been absolutely fab, arrived at short notice & got top guy there from headquarters.
Apparently numerous calls were made to RSPCA from neighbours local to field, nothing was done

Unlikely, M_G. But as it's now 2.20pm and I assume the vet was called this morning - I hope that Lee is jumping up and down and getting all official over someones backside.........

Have to say I will be very interested to eventually find out which vets have been involved.
If it is who i think it is I will be surprised as they are a v good practise who i use myself.
What it does suggest is that we might not yet know the full story.
I do wish they'd hurry up and get out there though.
