TB has already confirmed she was calling herself evil and not OP. Maybe her sentence wasn't perfect english and this lead to confusion. But we now know what she meant, so leave it there?

I wanted an overgrown black arab (aye alright, I was young!) and bought a HW hairy piebald because I fell in love with him. My mother thought he was an ugly sod when we bought him, now she thinks he's the most beautiful thing in the world. How she couldn't see it in him to start with, I'll never know. Love does grow - but it's a big gamble to buy a horse you aren't sold on (in any way - personality or looks) before you fall in love with it.

Yes, perhaps that is what led to the confusion, if that's the case then I can't REALLY be blamed for my interpretation......

Most of the posts on this forum don't make sense without your brain filling in the gaps :D I thought the absence of "then" was implied sense because of the phrasing, but it depends on what your brain is expecting to have to fill in. Life would be so much easier if people obeyed the laws of English more fully! :D (A/A* since we're sharing trivial historical details now :p )

I love the colour dun too, beauty is in the eye of the beholder & I had a doubtful looking horse but its amazing how beautiful any horse can look with regular care & attention (a pair of clippers, tidy mane & tail, chalk....even just to see them working correctly makes them beautiful).

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, all horses are special in there own way. If you are having to ask then perhaps you are not really sure yourself, when I first saw and tried Ebony I straight away wanted her, and I would not have and did not care what anyone else thought of her, she was the horse for me, so if you are asking what do we think, I then think perhaps the horse really is not for you, because if it really was you would not care what we said.

I wouldn't buy a horse if i didn't like the look of it. I'd want to be spending my hard earned cash on something i like the look of, regardless of whether it can or can't do the job.

Can't really see that much of a big deal in that myself.
