Snow

Sat at the bottom of the pennines, starting at 9pm tonight (Sat ) we are forecast 9 hours of snow some of it heavy, followed by 10 hours of sleet, followed by 10 hours of rain, taking us till 5 ish Monday morning, the fields will be an even bigger mess. So the neds are having a couple of duvet days. Of course the sleet may turn to snow and the rain to sleet just to make it more interesting. Strangely although I've been out and about for the last 90 mins I've not seen a single gritting lorry and its currently 0°. Be safe everyone.
We are slightly to the north of you and much higher up. We have had a reasonably pleasant January day today, frozen ground has thawed out somewhat, although ice from yesterday's water buckets is still holding its shape, where I threw it in the field. We have put rugs on the horses and will leave them out, as usual. I've just been outside and it's drizzling a bit now. Just remember to put your big coat on and you'll be fine, lol!

I'm getting a bit fed up of the dramatic way this is being reported, anyone would think it's never snowed before 🙄 looks like it may snow here overnight, then rain tomorrow
yes they do tend to get a little overexcited about things that were just accepted as normal in earlier times. :D

no snow here (Dartmoor) it's simply pissing down and has been since about 5pm . :)

We have snow but it's not snowmageddon like they keep reporting. Amber warning ⚠️. anyone would think it never happens.they keep telling people to keep warm and drive carefully. Noooo, it's snowing and freezing I think I'll switch the heating off put on a bikini and go for a long walk in flip flops. Can no one think for themselves anymore? Do we have to be nannied like we're all two years old?

In the West Mids we've had a good covering. It's currently plus one but feels like minus four and will snow until 3am when it will turn to rain and all go.

6:45am on Sunday at the bottom of the pennines in South Yorkshire, 10cm--4" of snow gritter with a plough has been through the village a couple of times so onlt2.5cm--1" of snow on the road, forecast shows it should be sleeting for the next 9 hours but the snow is still coming down quite quickly, up date in a couple of hours. Be safe and careful everyone.

Started here around 9pm and still snowing lightly now at 7.30am, Warwickshire/Northamptonshire border. So much for rain coming and taking it away. Ver light covering though so will soon go.

We had a covering of snow here in Mid West Wales last night from about 7pm but woke up to +5 no snow, drizzle and thick fog!

Well 2 hours have passed, we have been the 7 mile round trip to the yard only saw 1 vehicle ahead of us and he got stuck on a slight incline and we edged slowly past him, main road now passable at 30 mph but would not want to go any faster, the loop through our village has been ploughed and gritted but only passable with safe driving. Still snowing steadily.

4-5 inches has landed here, we’ve had loads worse that hasn’t warranted any kind of weather warnings like we’ve had this time to be be honest! The forecast rain hasn’t started yet.

Dartmoor
poured with rain since 5pm yesterday, still pissing down. I have been outside doing the horses in T shirt and jeans as it is too warm for anything more (and getting wet)
no heating on in the house it's just too hot, condensation running down the walls in the stables, all rugs off as way too warm and horses are getting a shower as water drips of the underneath of the roofs
