Weekend plans :)

Yes AE, come to our flexi eventing on Sat!
I'm taking my horse for his first competitive outing since we turned our last event into a combined training exercise and gave him almost 3 months off after tweaking his check ligament.
@Fiona since this is my first week, I take it I'm allowed to just do dressage?!

I sound very confident about all this HOWEVER truck is in the mechanics so it is all dependent on getting it back in time...
Good luck everyone :-)

Of course not, if I have to jump, then you have to jump (unless you have a vets certificate ?)..

Hope your lorry is ready ? Ours has been away for 3 weeks now...

Did you enjoy the AGM last night?

FIONA

Good luck with all the flexi eventing, it is good fun! Although I've barely jumped since I hurt my hand last may, no mojo :( but will get back to it at some point.

We were supposed to be dressage Irelanding but its postponed so booked a lesson for saturday instead. Will hack on sunday. Show next week as long as we don't get snowed in lol

Still very cross that you aren't joining us on Saturday ???

Fiona

Bernster - flexi eventing is like arena eventing but you don't have to do all three bits. There is a dressage arena with intro, PN, N and I tests, an SJ arena and an XC arena with water and a bank. You booķ into whatever bits you fancy, and it runs as a league over 8 weeks.

Definitely go to the showing clinic oldie, it will be great experience for rose...

Arena hire for me again on Sunday, and AGAIN the only time available was 8:45 - I like sleeping! It's an SJ/XC arena so lots of different jumps to try. None of the other liveries wanted to go (they're boring :p) so just me and Buzz going, whole place to ourselves!

Good luck everyone else competing.

Ahhh good luck MP. @HufflyPuffly I loveee area eventing, so much fun. Good luck everyone and enjoy all your lessons!

Mines still not back into full work quite yet due to injury so nothing interesting. I am picking up with the dog on a shoot Saturday, will ride Saturday PM and have all of Sunday morning/day free. I saw a pole group lesson advertised at the local riding club but hes not quite fit enough yet so was a no go. I passed my trailer test in October but haven't driven it since.. terrified to take it out so keep bailing out. Getting bored of the same local hacking routes though, might pull myself together and box 5 miles down the road for a hack.

Nothing exciting for us. I have some bits and bobs to try and make an agility course but its either this afternoon or next weekend as our school is being hired out on Saturday and its forecast torrential rain on Sunday.

Possibly the agility this afternoon, then Saturday I want to get up to the yard early and have 20 mins in the school before the lessons start and then possibly venture out around the block on our own. Sunday might be the day I use for his pamper day (trim and tidy up!).

Sounds like you have all got super plans :)

Big fella went for his first schooling outing of the year this morning, Rectory farm, jumped a sj course and their arena evening Xc fences, had a big smile on his face. He gets me riding him tomorrow then a day of leisure on sunday.

Little Man is now rising 4. He did 8 weeks being broken in last year and went back to boarding school 10 days ago. He started where he left off and is happily back walk & trot under saddle and out hacking solo this week. I’m going to pop in and give him a cuddle tomorrow

Lovely pics. She looks fab JFTDWS.

If by "fab" you mean she looks like a Scythian war horse, I'd completely agree... The mane is quite something :D

Quick update for last weekend... went for blast around the forestry with my friend on Sunday. Mr H was very well behaved (I thought he might have been over enthusiastic).
On Tuesday had an evening jumping lesson and he was very good, relaxed, no fighting me and jumped really nice rhythmical and fluid couple of courses. I only forgot myself once and fired him at a jump. Instructor was very pleased as was I.
Not sure about this weekend- either lesson or possibly last minute arena eventing entry if they let me enter.
Have a good weekend everyone

off to my first sj lesson on saturday since falling off. Im a tad nervous already. Did some pole work last night and I just hope shes not as excited when we take off over the jumps. Body protector and air jacket packed. Instructor has put me in a private lesson, so im guessing he knows how petrified I am.

Hope everyone else has fun.

I passed the test! In two weeks I will have a new puppy in my life ❤️❤️

Yay, where are the photos?? Need some on 2 weeks!

Also, YAY, the weekend has started. Just popped out for an afternoon hack. Finn is a nice hack, but not Police Horse nice as she had not done much before and we have been a bit restricted. Well, today she was amazing. On a single track country road, so limited space, there was a house having a new driveway. Pallets of new block paving, stacked 2 and 3 high, covered in plastic at the roadside - with a JCM working behind them that kept popping its bucket etc out onto the road.

As the driver was behind the stacks of scary blocks he could not see me easily, and we had to time our pass for a backward movement of his JCB so we could fit. She was amazing. She lifted her knees high but otherwise strolled by.

Later, there was another set of roadworks and a mini JCB, with someone tipping gravel from a flatbed into a metal wheelbarrow. Finn is amazing, she put on her brave pants and did everything she was asked to do, ignoring the noise. We had 2 more sets of workmen (must be the warmer weather!) and each time she was brave.

More hacking tomorrow and then an indoor arena on Sunday.

I have been stressed lately and did some retail therapy last week. Finn now has three new fluffy numnahs, a matching set of ears, a new no fill outdoor rug, a new hoof pick and a new bit (eggbut snaffle). Very satisfying! Ha Ha.

Having had a really tough couple of months work and life wise over the last few months, I'm finally getting back to normal.
I'm starting a youngster for my friend, so we will have ridden session number 4 on Sunday having been on him twice in the last few days. He is a super chap, and is taking it all in his stride.
I'm hoping to get out hacking Sunday and to the gallops Monday, Tamba has a new saddle, and it seems so much better. Glad to say my oldie is flying at the moment, so fingers crossed she stays that way. Maisy has looked sound for a couple of months now, so she is going to restart gently and will see if she stays that way!
Winnie is doing her first slightly longer ride Sunday, so hopefully all will go well!
Tomorrow however I'm off to the regional endurance awards and social evening which should be fun, although I have a long day at work first!
Have fun everyone

Still on quarantine, I haven't ridden since Jan 5th and I'm (not so quietly) going bonkers.... teaching at least tomorrow and I'll pop over to see Madam (who is also bored out of her horsey mind..)
