Bitting clinic on Saturday then have a go at polo day at our local club. Next week I was all excited as I had thought I’d booked myself into AM Dressage for a three day mini break Monday to Wednesday but crossed wires all round means they have booked me in Tuesday and Wednesday only. Hoping to book in an extra lesson on Monday if I can as my accommodation and leave from work all booked!

Haha! yes I've done my time! I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to something that I will know where all the cock ups came from and that I'll only have myself to blame for ;)

nature versus nurture is an interesting debate ! Lovely to see Kira out and about.

our pilates lesson was fabulous, i cant believe the difference after one lesson. After hurting my hip i havent been able to sit to Pips canter. Instructor popped some franklyn balls between the saddle and my knees to retrain my muscles, and it worked . The one under my bum felt incredibly odd, but again worked straight away. Pip was moving so much better and in much more self carriage. I knew it was my fault, so its just great to find someone who understood my problem and helped me fix it. Plus, before my accident i had an issue with my right ankle, she spotted that too and told me why it was happening, took her advice and yet again it helped straight away. Today im not even sore, bonus. Blown away ! Heres to my next one.:)

Well this weekend I will mainly be trying out new saddle on the difficult child! Next week , with the older boy attending a test riding clinic to see what a list one judge thinks of us at AM. After that I will be lieing down in a darkened room with a stiff G & T x

Another pretty dull weekend for me, but I'll be making the most of it as we're away for the next two weekends to see family! We'll hack today and Sunday, and probably school tomorrow.

Danny is feeling great but a little too quiet yesterday - I'm hoping it was just the muggy weather but it may be that a couple of weekends off will do him good after 8 weeks of building up his fitness again. Despite being a bit quiet he worked well, he's getting the idea of half pass now and I was able to alternate a few strides of half pass / shoulder-in to help him shift the weight off his left shoulder, which helped with the bend and fluency. I then did some no-stirrup work, which I wouldn't have dared to do on him a few months ago!!

Have a great weekend everyone :D

I had another fab jump lesson and actually stayed dry. It is starting to come together more and more, working on building a decent canter and not faffing into a fence (aka panic!!) when they get bigger. Finding an instructor you trust when they say 'you can do that' is amazing. And its not my lovely horse, its all me! This time last year I wasnt doing much more than x poles on a regular basis. I am off to do a very low key show next weekend and have entered the 'up to 80 and up to 90'. One more lesson between now and then!IMG-20200708-WA0032.jpgScreenshot_20200708-195244_Video Player.jpgScreenshot_20200708-195054_Video Player.jpg

Enjoying reading all these in what has been a welcome break from a very busy week at work.

I'm hacking out early morning tomorrow - aiming to get 11-12 miles in with some decent canters and trots. Where I am now is about a 5 mile ride to some really good off-road hacking so it's a good warm up to get there!

Easy walk out with maldwyn on the long reins or may ride depending how he's feeling. May take him out in the trailer to a local beach to do some work in the water on sunday.

Mum and I have just bought some paddle boards as a treat so we'll be doing that Saturday evening on a near by canal :D

How are you not sore?
To be fair supercob is rather wide, but truly I felt like it took 12 hours for my hips to return to anywhere near normal ?

Some exciting things going on, I hope you all enjoy!

Unfortunately M had a low grade laminitis episode a couple of weeks ago :( he is sound enough to do some work now and his back hoofboots just arrived so its operation fatpad reduction!

On the plus side I've just picked up my new tow car and I just adore it already! No actual towbar yet, it is booked in for 2 weeks time. For any fellow petrol heads it is has an awesome 4.2l V8 twin turbo diesel engine which is just immense fun. As soon as I sat in it I knew it was going to be good, switched the engine on and I knew it would be great, after the test drive I thought it was amazing

My new (to me) Cayenne :)

It was a bit ouchy at first when I rode with the balls , but it did settle . ( actually laughing at what I just wrote ) a bit stiff immediately after . But today feel ok . I did only do 30mins , as gradually increasing the time in lessons .

Ooohh wheels , that is fab car . Arriving in style !

Bloody hell, Wheels, that's not a tow car it's a lifestyle statement!
Barlow, I am at AM on Monday having a lesson with Justine Sole, she's great. I don't think Adam teaches on a Monday, Matt sometimes does. If you are there on Monday, I have the purple lorry, would love to say hello.

This afternoon Buzz and I had a session with a behaviourist type person to work on his loading and he was a little star. Picked up on all the ground work stuff really quickly then after about 15 minutes walked onto the box like a pro, repeatedly! And with just me! The last attempt was me walking with a very loose lunge line and he basically walked himself on the ox behind me so I was so proud and pleased with him. Hope he keeps it up!

Other than that, jumping at home and hacking this weekend as have a flat pack furniture delivery I'm waiting for ?

Thanks all, I am loving it so far!
I think M will have a better ride too with the air suspension as the back of the car and towbar will not be bouncing around so much

Wheels that is some yoke!!! Health to enjoy!
Where are you going for towbar? We’ve had a few recommendations but not booked anything yet.

It's going to indespension at mallusk. The dealer booked it for me which worked out quite a bit cheaper as they got a trade price for me.

I went for a lesson today, it was good fun. However, I had to hire a horse as the beast stood on a nail the previous day ?
It went through the sole of his left hind hoof so off to the vet we went. He was very lame but seems to have made quite a recovery as he was galloping and bucking around the field this evening. So I think we dodged a bullet there.

The poor thing was diagnosed with copd just a month ago so he is having an unfortunate time of it recently.
In order to get him to eat his (disgusting) antibiotic I got him a bag of coarse mix. He is pleased about that, he enjoys molasses ?

Sounds like everyone is having fun this weekend. I have had a frustrating couple of weeks with my bunch - multiple niggles, a couple of which were obscure enough to have me convinced my precious horse was broken forever , but all seems resolved now thankfully.

This thread doesn't have enough pictures though, so from this morning....

I think she must've been been sniffing the road or something ?‍♀

Ogling the (many many) golfists on the other side of the fence.

It was very busy out on the roads this morning, Britain definitely seems to be on the go go go again.

Back safe from xc, only 1 very hairy moment about half way round. Aiming at a fence, centre of 3, roll top at about 80. B comes in v well but on take off swerves hard right, clears part, drops a foot and bashed the 1m fence on right. V odd to have them so close together, trainer passed message back that it was a tad dangerous. Luckily only a minor scrape on upper leg behind.
Otherwise all v v good, plenty of variety inc steps, water, barrels, chair, oxers etc etc, gave many a good bit of air..... trainer very pleased at how B has come on from last year tho.
6th time out on an xc course ever, 1st time since early Oct last year, v happy with her.
SJ tomorrow morning.....

Sorry, had a couple of photos, but keep getting 'oops, ran into problems ' when uploading :(
