Rough guide pls - what weight can i expect him to carry?

I have a 16.2 TB but he is quite chunky with 9 1/2" bone. My vet said he could carry 16 stone. He taught my portly husband to ride, no trouble at all.

    Spring is in the air!!

Had the same experience. Went on our favourite hack with two friends. My normally very sensible 13 yo TB was a complete fool, two spins, once whilst cantering and saw a fox hole that wasn't there last time and then when a pheasant went up. At least it gave some walkers something to see as we...

Slighty unusual question for you all.

Another vote for the Tempur - absolutely brilliant. Do not go for a hard mattress, they are really awful for bad backs.

    Rein Back

Thank you for suggesting video - good idea - just a bit puzzled because I though rb was one of the few things we could do ok!!

    Rein Back

Herbie scores his first Dressage points.

Very well done to you, Herbie is a very good boy. Hooray too for MM & Corroy - finally got the points they deserved - onwards and upwards!

my dog just had our 13 year old cat in his mouth

Off on holiday for 2 weeks!

My daughter lives near Geneva. It's a lovely country, but keep away from tack shops - very grand and expensive! Have a lovely time.

If i showed you a picture would you be able to tell me if......

A vet some years ago said that my 16.2hh TB, who is quite a chunky lad with 9 1/2" bone could carry 16 stone, but would assume this excluded the more extreme disciplines.

    Channel 4 Morning Line

I saw it too and agree that any publicity is a good thing - what a crazy country we live in that these decisions are made by the judiciary, something needs to be done in the name of common sense.

How good a rider are you?

Can stay on my own horse at all paces & with spurs, would probably fall off anyone else's

    No H&H yet again, fuming!

    Mine didn't arrive either.

    Big fluffy nosebands....

Suppose its too much to ask that they are dressage legal, if they were could be the answer to my prayers!
