    Plaiting problem

I have this cob which I plaited fine last year, but I tried yesterday and it just didn’t work! I plaited really tight but when I went to roll the plait nearer the top it looked really loose and not round at all. His mane nearer his poll is split into both sides, but I pulled the whole thing...

Thinking of maybe going into hunt service

I am 17 and looking at career options and love hunting. I’m not really worried what section I go into but just wondering if anyone knows a typical day from when it starts and finishes and the typical routine of being in hunt service for any of the roles.

    Horse slides while going downhill

We have an 8yrs old cob and every time you go down a hill mainly in fields he tends to flick his front feet out and round in front of each foot and slides as he walks. When he slides it’s not small is a good 1/2 metre to 1 metre in length. I just wanted to know whether it’s just his way of going...

    Which clippers to chose!?

I have a pair of lister star clippers and they are amazing and wouldn't swap them for anything else as they also have a good reputation. They are easy to adjust the tension and are really light and they clip really tight and nicely. Definitely recommend buying a pair!

Reviews - NAF Plait it up

I need something to hold my plaits better, as at the moment I use nothing apart from the bands. Just wondering if it would help with extra grip and hold and also if I helps to get tighter plaits.

Feeding for horse with ends of hooves cracked

I have an Irish Draught cross, who's feet isn't dry but they seem to just crack at the ends, they are pretty soft but not massively so wanted recommendations for feed which would harden his feet.

    Tips for mounting?!

Our horse took off with my dad and broke 3 of his ribs as he fell onto the road and was then funny to mount after, and part of his problem was that he was blind in his left eye but only half of it, so now he is being trained right from the start as if he is being broken in, patting the saddle...

    Clippers

I use lister star clippers on our hunters and they are amazing they come with a 1.5 blade which gives a tight clean cut, and the blades are so easy to replace, and the clippers are so light and easy to handle, would highly recommend these.

Could he pull off being hogged?

He would really suit being hogged, but be careful as when we bought our cob he was hogged and had his tail clipped which it shouldn't of been! but he was itchy as hell and rubbed right down to the skin so won't be hogging him again, but a good top tip that i was told was to put baby oil on after...

Should I plait my cob if he's not clipped?

His mane will be pulled up to hand length as it has had the summer to grow so would be able to be plaited up in to bunche, but i don't want to do it if he will look silly
