Yay for the update. Gulp for the bill.

I was a bit bonkers and paid for Finn‘s complicated stay at the RVC as he wasn’t insured. Wiped out my savings and his head lumps aren’t much smaller but you gotta try these things for the sake of yer pony. It may not be good common sense however!

If any of us had good common sense, one might argue we wouldn't have horses in the first place 😆

It does make me feel somewhat sick to see it in writing!!!!

Nothing wine won’t help with though. And seeing Bog home 🥰
It's the "any questions" bit at the end that made me laugh. When it's that much it's just gulp and hit the bottle really

I've just cancelled the microcob's insurance because she had too many exclusions and it was pricey. But in this situation I'd have taken her up to hospital for suspected colic (her guts were insured) and then suddenly found myself with pneumonia (lungs not insured). I have absolutely no idea what I'd have done. In all honesty probably run up a huge bill!! All mine cap out in the low thousands anyway and insurance wouldn't have made much of a dent in your bill.

But he's thankfully on the mend and who needs savings anyway!

Excellent news!

Pah, though, you need to come to Canada if you want decent vet bills to pay ;-) We spent more than that on a 4 day hospital stay for a dog (who had maxed out his insurance payouts already). But hey you do what you gotta do for love...

I have 31 inner city year 4 children who have absolutely no idea about horses all vested in Boggle’s story and will need to be updated tomorrow 🤣💖💖👍🏻. I think it was the idea of him ‘flying’ that got them listening. I tell non horsey children because they love it- non horsey adults tend to look at me strangely. They don’t get it. Their loss! Come on Boggle. Super boy!

It’s only money and Boggles life does not have a price tag.

I reckon 25k all in including follow up stuff and hay steamer. Bloody bargain. A nice unbroken horse here is more than that 🤣
Couldn't find the right emoji for that post laugh, cry , love, hate just not sure. I am so glad he does now seem to be on the mend and will be home with you soon. Hope you find a suitable bedding I love my aubiose but I wouldn't think it would be where you are . Hopefully they have some good quality dust extracted wood flakes at a sensible price, the USA is not short of trees.

Just catching up! I’ve been at the barn making his bed. Ahh everyone has been so kind! I feel slightly comforted that apparently if he was in Florida the bill would be twice that haha. I’ve made him a nice big bed which he will love, fresh shavings make him very happy 😀

When I worried about spending money on buying a horse in my "later" years, a friend of mine egged me on by telling me that if I saved it, "they" would only spend it on incontinence pads for me in the care home.:rolleyes:

When your dotage comes (decades off I know!), you won't remember the colour of the dollar bills but you will remember every moment with Boggle.

So cheered to read this latest update.

Well.....I mean, at least you had a pretty accurate estimate of the cost when he went in! I seem to remember you were expecting it to top out at about $20K? It sounds utterly horrific to me but I suppose as you say, you have a well paid job so you'll get it paid off. I haven't posted much on here but I am so, so pleased he's turned the corner - I am a "religious person" and I've been praying for you both since this started! It's so clear how much you love him, and what a character he is.

Oh that's such a wonderful way of putting it! Thank you! I will kiss his nose for every dollar of the bill, that will really annoy him but I feel he will just have to let me have that :D

He's given me so many good days and memories, I hope we have plenty more to come in whatever capacity.
