Just waiting on a call back for a time, been made aware they've had a lot of emergencies this morning and it may not be today now.
Shes on stronger meds (gabapentin plus paracetamol) and a huge amount more comfortable at least

Vet rang back after getting a second opinion from a colleague on the ultrasound results, says some of the signs (congested liver etc) could point towards heart failure so they want to check her heart first when she goes in for X-rays next Wednesday.

Hes said there's a chance for a very rapid decline if that is the case and to bring her straight in if there's any worrying symptoms ☹️

Painkillers defo working, daft girl decided she could still jump the baby gate today 🤦🏼‍♀️

Leg seems no worse for it, she had a bit of a jog round the garden and looks much better although she was back to limping afterwards, she's been keeping herself so still i wasn't worried, but might need to watch a bit more what she's doing now

It's bone cancer, in the elbow and shoulder.

Possibility some nodules growing in abdomen and chest too, but no point doing biopsy now as won't change the outcome ...

As she's relatively comfortable, and heart and organs are working well enough for her to stay on the painkillers, she's coming home until they no longer keep her comfy. So she can be spoilt rotten for however much time she has left.

I can't do greyhounds anymore, I adore them but this is the second time I've been through this ☹️

Nothing anyone can say will give you any comfort at the moment, all I can say is how sorry I was to hear the outcome of the scan you must be completely devastated.
I had a Sight hound cross who had Oral Maligant Melanoma, the prognosis wasn’t good even if they took half his upper jaw away. He wasn’t brilliant with Vets or anaesthetic so I elected not to go down that route but to give him the best summer possible.
Home cooked fresh food, favourite walks and basically treated like a King from March to October when he told me he had had enough.
The love you have for your Lucy shines through and all you can do is keep her happy and comfortable for as long as she tells you it’s ok.

I'm so sorry TM. Not the result any of us wanted for you 😥 😥.
I would always rather know even if it's the last news I want to hear , than wonder if there was something i'd missed, or something that could have been done . You are an amazing owner and Lucy a lucky girl who will now be spoilt rotten for as much time as she has. xx

So sorry that you have got the news that no-one wanted. I hope you have more time with your girl and that she can be spoilt rotten. Take care x
