CDJ withdrawn from paris

Just as an aside... I commented on a fb post a few years ago. The post showed a video of a 4 yo at its first show. Everyone was gushing at how fantastic it was. It's legs were all over the place. I didn't follow the others, I commented that I doubt it would be sound in a few years. I got slated. I really wish I had made a note of the horses name to see if it is in fact still competing.

Oh the eye rolling I got when I commented negatively Blue Hors Matine and Totilas...and leaving an early Anky demo absolutely disillusioned.
 
Are horses being damaged long term for "sport"

There's all the posts about people's ex racers on here who are broken often beyond repair

You have all these dressage horses who look like their legs are on the point of dislocating

The wastage of these "industries" must be huge

I'm not a dog person but I've seen about the extreme breedings in German shepherd's to comply with show ring expectations

When does this all hit the point of "just because we can doesn't mean we should?"

I hope not. I don't think she deserves to lose her whole career.

Although one of the comments on the eurodressage says she's pregnant with her second child (not sure if true as havent seen it anywhere?), so perhaps she may be taking some further time away anyway.
 
At the end of the day, I can completely understand the owners not wanting to just keep the horse ticking over at home, whilst waiting for there to be some decision about how long Charlotte will be out of the game for (either dictated by the FEI or Charlotte herself). So the option is either to find another home rider or sell whilst the horse is still at the top of their game. Given how easily horses break, financially, selling seems like a sensible decision.
 
I'm pretty certain there was a falling out, prior to the video and nothing to do with anything of that ilk, and now apparently it's a free for all to insinuate anything using wooly, but evocative, language.

A soft tissue injury, for example, can happen to any horse and need a lot of time off then rehab. It doesn't mean that a horse with a soft tissue injury has been kept, trained or ridden in an abusive way.

I guess that's fair and reasonable comment. I didn't look at it that way.

It doesn't, but it is interesting the way MSJ has worded the comment doesn't exactly cool the flames does it?
 
Which is fine if you actually know about ducks, have the facts about the duck's injuries and know how the duck was kept and trained.

A singular 45 second clip over a lifetime of training, riding and competing isn't going to make me blindly believe everything posted on the Internet. Especially not by anyone who could have an axe to grind.

Is critical thinking a lost art?

I'm not sure what information you think I'm missing from the video that was posted. It was clearly normalised abuse and CDJ agreed that it was abuse (but disputed the normalised part, of course).

If we have evidence and admittance of abusive training methods, it's not completely out of the realm of possibility that another horse was also subjected to said training methods by the same person.

"Normalised abuse"? A 45 second video of 45-60 minute training lesson does not normalise abuse.

You have zero evidence of how CDJ herself is training horses at home.

So everyone who posts on here about their horses soft tissue injuries must be subjecting their horses to an abusive training regime and practices? Come on 🙄
