Katie Price.

rascal, I can see your point in that we hope that everyone had the same sense with animals that we do and that they do their utmost to protect them and not allow them to get into harm.

The reality is there are people out there genuinely abusing animals and they get piddly little sentences when caught, a ban for a short period.

KP isn’t at hone 24/7 I would bet, she certainly has her horses on full livery from posters on here, so she leaves her animals in the care of others. She wasn’t At home when Princess’ puppy died.

I’m not sure what you hope to gain by attacking KP, I’m pretty sure you don’t know her, don’t have personal experience - I.e are her neighbour and are watching things happen? So, you are getting frustrated and annoyed by stuff that is JUST in the media!! That’s how a witch-hunt starts, fuelled by stupid media articles that are filled with such nonsense as they want to sell papers/attract readers, it is SO easy to attack someone on social media.

In response to the post about fur - She obviously does not understand what is seen as wrong in wearing fur, a lot of people still wear it (hence the market being huge, Denmark for one has a £750m income from selling fur!), it happens and people are still buying it, people have been wearing fur for years. I’m a veggie and I don’t like seeing people wear fur as I really don’t think it is appropriate in this day and age, there is no longer a need to use it as clothing (unless you are an Eskimo or the like!).

Rascal, let this go as this isn’t good for you either, she’s someone that clearly “gets your goat” and perhaps find something good to direct your attentions too, for the sake of your own well being.

Sermon ends! x
So why is leather tack and clothing any different ?

I really dislike the ongoing hate campaigns against KP and don't really know why she attracts so much vindictiveness apart from the fact she is entirely unapologetic about how she lives her life, and good luck to her. What I do think is a real shame though is that she had a nose job; she used to have a proper conk, but it suited her and gave her face character then she traded it in for a stupid celebrity button affair.

Proper conk! ? excellent phrase. As a member of the Proper Conk Club it does make me feel a bit disappointed when people in the public eye trade in their original nose but I can't say that if I had to look at myself on the cover of papers or on the TV I wouldn't spend one of the paychecks on a fix up job myself. Nobody is totally immune to the siren call of the white, eurocentric, childlike-featured beauty standard, even if you know in your logical brain its a load of rubbish.

One of my chickens was mauled (fatally) by a walker's dog, off lead and no recall. In the middle of lambing. Right in front of me. The dog walker got an earful, I declined his offer to pay for the hen - by which time I had started to actually feel a bit sorry for him. End of story. I hope in future he has more control of his dog. I was upset about my hen but that was the end of the matter. I didn't call the police, or demand his dog be seized, or that he be banned from keeping animals. Or start an online hate campaign.

I’ve had this same situation. Was going to add. Very sad as my girls are truly very much pets to me. We had 3 go to a neighbours dog which had taken itself for a walk to ours...

I was furious and had words with our neighbour, they were truly mortified and that was that.

I didn’t post in our local village group that they are awful owners etc etc which is basically what this is!

In H and H today, there has been a pony PTS because of a dog attack, and people are saying getting out is an accident, well trained dogs in a secure place do not get out.

In a perfect world that would be so.

Accident: an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and UNINTENTIONALLY typically resulting in damage or injury.

K.P has dogs who have got out and attacked chickens, and another who got out and was killed on the road. Do not like dog owners who let their dogs run around loose, which is probably how that pony was attacked in Hand H today . We have dogs of our own, but around livestock they are always on a lead, even though they have good recall, and are used to other animals.

Your final sentence was missing from your post #130

What is the point of your hate campaign against KP?

Yes, they do. People leave gates open; dogs wiggle through things; stuff happens. I very much doubt that Katie Price sets her dogs on random livestock, throws them under passing cars, etc. any more than the average dog owner. Over 50+ years of having dogs, horses and lots of other animals I have had multiple escapes, sad accidents, occasional disasters: stuff happens.

What is your problem?

My garden fence blew over in a storm once. I let the dogs out for a wee in the morning, not knowing the fence as down, and they were out the the fence and onto the road. Thankfully they came back when called and nothing ran them over... could have easily happened though. I suppose that makes me a terrible owner

By the way that happened twice because the “landlords” did a bodge job of fixing the fence and it blew over again in the next storm

Yes that’s happened to me too. My JRT has a rubbish recall. Perfect if there’s no bushes or chance of furry things to chase, but has selective deafness when doing what comes naturally. She’s always on a lead when outside (with added carabina clip to be sure) but there have been occasions where someone has accidentally left the garage door open and she’s gone out to the nearest bush to investigate. I must be an awful owner too.

Ive had a couple of incidents of ponies loose on the road. Thankfully they were found before anything could happen to them. Thats what happpens when someone plows thier car through your fencing at night and then just drives away!

ive also had a dog that got loose almost constantly for a while. Huge golden retriever. Couldn’t work out how the hell he was getting out until we saw him climb an 8ft fence via wheelie bin that was inches too close to the gate.

ive rolled a car over a goldie of mine. He had crawled under it to get out of the sun, i needed to move the car to open a shed door so got in it and let the handbrake off to roll it back. Thankfully very low speed + big dog meant the worst injury he had was where he had put a tooth through his lip.

so should i not have horses or dogs either?

accidents happen, if they haven’t happened to you yet then you have been very lucky

My JRT escaped once. I had a delivery and thought she was shut in the kitchen but someone had opened the kitchen door and let her out .

Next thing I knew she shot between my legs and ran and jumped in to the couriers van! I had to go and retrieve her from the drivers seat. ?

Little dogs (and puppies) can and do escape despite the owners best efforts.

Let it go Rascal. Its Christmas. Time for a bit of goodwill eh? ?

I too have had incidents over the years that could have been a disaster but pure luck saved the day.

My husband and I went out for the day and left our GSD outside which we had done many times before. We can't have shut the back gate properly and when we came home she was sitting on the front lawn waiting for us. She could easily of gone for a wander and got run over.

We were walking the dog in a forest and a large herd of deer appeared out of nowhere and ran across our path. Our dog chased them and recall went out the window. My husband and I went in different directions looking for him and some walkers had found him laying by the roadside. We weren't sure at the time if he'd been run over but the vet believed he'd collapsed from exhaustion. We were very lucky as a friend's dog was runover and killed in the same place, same circumstances.

A friend was driving past my horse's field one afternoon and noticed the gate was open. She couldn't see any horses from the road and she knew the field was in use so she stopped to check. Luckily all the horses were in the field but they could easily have got onto the road. I'd had an accident bringing my horse in as he was in the field wearing a headcollar and rope and I was inside the gateway with a broken knee and severe concussion. Something must have happened after I'd opened the gate to get him out of the field. I have no memory of the event and I didn't have a mark on me!

No one is perfect. One thing I can't bear is judgemental, holier than thou people.

Happy Christmas everyone :)

So you dont like Katie Price. No need to be so rude. Accidents happen, animals get out. IMO you are being pure nasty to someone you dont even know. HAPPY CHRISTMAS everyone!!

For Christ's sake - who are you???? Why are you even demeaning yourself like this? Have you no sense of shame and self awareness? Why in this world that is full of disaster and all our futures look so grim are you choosing to entertain yourself vilifying some random Z lister?

Over the course of several years, like all animal owners who keep a multitude of animals, she has lost some pets due to various tragic accidents or illness that we and the press have absolutely NO first hand idea how they came about etc. etc.

By your self righteous standard OP I probably should have had all my animals taken off me several decades ago.....oh and had my wicked animal abusing name spread all over social media. Jaysus!

I really wonder what the reaction of OP would be to these accidents if the animals had been owned by a person that she knew and liked. I suspect it would have been one of sympathy, I cannot imagine that she would say 'well your dogs have escaped twice now so you are not fit to keep animals'. Yes this lady earns her living by being in the public eye, so of course her actions are to some extent open to scrutiny and to the opinion of others, but we should not forget that she is a person too and has feelings. When people here post about accidents I don't see anyone saying 'your horse got loose, you irresponsible owner'. Accidents happen, and sadly sometimes people have a run of bad luck, if this ever happened to me I would hope that the response I would receive would be one of compassion, not judgement and hatred.

Like a lot of other people on here i do not like out of control dogs, no matter who owns them we live next to two, our horse was attacked by a different dog, my mother in laws horse was almost killed by a dog the owner had no control over, took months of vet visits, and the dog owner legged it.

I suspect this might be at the root of this, but it wasn't KP's dog that almost killed your MIL's horse. I'm sorry if you have issues with your neighbours dogs, but again I don't think raving about random celebrities online based on hearsay is the best way to deal with it.

I presume if you think KP should be banned from keeping animals then you also think the same of Princess Anne, who after all has actually been convicted under the dangerous dogs act so that one is fact not hearsay? and presumably that event rider whose dogs got loose on the course should also have had all her animals removed, including her horses, rather than just fined? Did you start petitions for those too?

So it is perfectly OK for dogs to get out and damage other peoples animals? You would think differently if it was your pets or birds, so many times people on here have said they wish people would keep their dogs under control, does that not apply if the dog belongs to someone well known? They do just as much damage.
