I have just purchased mats for my stable and I am looking at types of bedding to use. Aquamax looks pretty good from just reading the website. I am looking for something economical and easy to muck out.
Its for one mare, who is out in the day, in at night and very clean.
How many bags would...

I don't really understand these posts though coz what is enough for my horse is not enough or too much for someone elses. Surely you just feel the base of their ears, keep an eye on their weight and rug accordingly? It depends on the horse, the weather, the shelter, myriad different...
Yeah she is in at night with ad lib hay and fed well.
I think i will put bandages on tonight. The hairy highland next door is standing roasting with no rugs on
What rugs do you or would you have on your horsey in temperatures of minus 20?
Last night it was minus 18 here and is expected to get even colder, my wimpy tb x arab is 19 and is always wrapped up well, atm she has on a 300g liner, stable rug with a PE Winter buster on top and she still feels...
I posted about mud fever a few days ago as my horse is also suffering. I've tried various things but this time my vet gave me Flamazine (you can also buy it online) she told me to put on a thick layer of flamazine then cling film the legs and put on a thick stable bandage right down the leg...

My mare currently has mud fever which i will let clear up before putting any boots on but i am wondering how good they are? Are they much better than a decent barrier cream?
I have looked at the Equi librium close...

The Rambo looks worn out already compared to the Fal.
I bought a premier equine...
QR- its quite a well defined round ball so dont think its a rub. I've also seen warble before and it was alot harder than this. I thought of a sarcoid too although the one's I have seen have always been more flat, they like to keep us worrying.
Also posted in vets but thought more people would view here.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Its appeared on my mares fetlock over the past day, its hard and doesnt seem to be causing pain.
I found this small lump on my mares back leg just on the outside of the fetlock. Its appeared pretty much overnight and she hasnt had anything like it before?
Its hard and doesnt seem to be causing any pain.
Any ideas?
My 19 yr old tbxarab is looking fine at the moment however she is hard to keep weight on throughout the winter so I'd like to see her with more weight on her. She is probably on the lean side of fine atm.
So she will be out during the day on reasonable grazing, in at night with ad lib good...
