Turning adult horse away in winter?

Your horse will be fine turned away, but it's so sad when you fall out with a friend. Is there any chance of mending the rift and being good friends again, she may feel the same as you and be under the stress of 'not talking to friend'. Just a thought - it's a lot of money to buy your own...

    Kauto

Very sad - this beautiful horse looks like he is completely shutting down, doesn't even know where he is placing his feet. Maybe he is just not suited to dressage, or he has been pushed to fast to quickly and just can't cope with what is being asked of him. The riding is really dreadful, and I...

Is it me.... (before and after photos - different horse?)

I think it's the same horse, it says he arrived in November with rainscald and mud fever so he may well have lost hair on his legs. I think if is camera glare that gives the impression of socks, also I think it is just the angle of the photo as to why his man bits are not on show. The head looks...

    Apology

What a great thread and I admire your post, we all sometimes get carried away and then feel really awfully about something on hindsight we know isn't really what we mean or would normally say. I hope you now feel a lot better. Ali xxx

Our Bullmastiff has a tumour on heart:(

My Alsatian who is nine yo, was diagnosed with a tumor in August this year. My Vet was quite pessimistic and asked if I wanted to put a dog of his age through surgery. I said yes as to me he is not that old and very fit. The vet phoned me in the middle of the operation to say the tumor was...

    Moral Dilemma - old owner

Sorry to hear you lost your horse, but as others have said I would think it's best not to contact previous owner - you deleted her from your facebook and she may be a bit narky about that. So to contact her now only to tell her the horse has died just doesn't seem like a good idea, will open a...
