Do you turn your horse out alone?

Yes, mine is usually out on her own and isn't at all bothered.

SEIB Search for a Star - room, what to wear?

When I'm helping as groom, I tend to wear my show jacket and shirt & tie, smart dark trousers and boots - basically pretty much the same attire as I would for showing in-hand. If you've made the huge effort to get the horse and rider looking gorgeous you don't want to let the 'team' down by not...

    U21s Dressage Report

Very well done! I was writing there on Sunday for a couple of classes - not your classes although I did see you and your lovely horse in the warm-up arena.

    Side Saddle

I rode the large bay gelding - I think he was called Graham? My friend rode the gorgeous coloured cob Squadron Leader Jefferson - Jeffrey! Absolutely loved it, both horses were lovely and I can't wait to go back!

    Side Saddle

Yes, my friend and I had our first lesson at the end of last year with Roger Philpott - it was great and we both loved it. Apparently we were quite good at it too, we ended up riding the intermediate equitation test to finish off our session. Can't wait to have another go - and hopefully...

What dressage saddle do you have and why?

I have a Nick Dolman, very similar to Semiflex, with serge owen panels. It is adjustable and allows for my mare's huge shoulders. She seems to be very comfortable in it - and has been for 18 months now and it's very comfortable to ride in. I got mine second hand but it did cost your full budget!

Is your horse freezemarked? If so, where?

Yes, my horse has been freezemarked since she was three. It was done under her saddle - partly because I was intending to show her and it does look a little unsightly on the shoulder, but most because she is a coloured mare and both her shoulders are white so I had it done where it would...

CC welcome, also are his markings good for coloured classes?

Take him and out and show, if nothing else it's a great education for a young horse to go out and see the world. Unless it's specifically a 'colour and markings' class his marking shouldn't really make any difference as they should be being judged on conformation, manner and way of going in an...

Having horses back checked - Staffordshire

After a few hit and miss people, have since always used WeaverHouse Clinic - based in Cheshire but they work all around the country. Adam is fantastic!

    Licensing to have foals

The people that are currently neglecting and over-breeding now would be the very people who wouldn't bother to become licensed so I don't think it would make any difference. Very like passports.

    This mare with this stallion?

And your boy is particularly gorgeous!:D

    Passports

Register with whichever society you would prefer and then you can have the passport overstamped with the other breed society if you want dual registration.

    Advise of bareback riding pads

I have recently borrowed one a couple of times and have to say it's been really good. I'm not entirely sure of the make but having had a quick look online it seems to be the Christ Lammfelle basic/standard bareback pad. It's a sheepskin top with long girth straps. It does seem to be rather...

dry cracking hooves, any recommendations for hoof oil?

Another vote for Kevin Bacon, it helps to hold in moisture when it's very dry and helps to prevent hooves becoming too wet our current 'damp' climate.

My injury is stopping me :(

Perhaps you should go and checked again and make sure you get a scan done in case there's any disc involvement etc. I've had one lot of major surgery for a sequestrated disc and am due to have another epidural and nerve root injections for three more troublesome discs. If you can find out what...
