What are you working on over winter? Aims for next year?

In the same, frustrating position!! Had a nasty fall in April that I 'ignored' the best I could and rather annoyingly caught up with me and now haven't sat on a horse for 9 weeks, sold my best horse as the opportunity came along and I had no idea how long I would be out for...but... Will...

Eden Valley Report - Why I WILL be returning

I don't come on here much, but just wanted to give another view on Eden Valley after some of the bad press it seems to have received on here. I am 'local' to the event (live about 20 miles away) and was very relieved when it stopped raining on Wednesday....and even more relieved when I received...

    Thoughts on Badders XC...

Enjoyed today, especially the suprise performances both impressive and perhaps not so.... Absolutely gutted for Ruth Edge, I really wish lady luck would just shine on her for Badminton, she is IMHO a class act and I think to come back after the disappointment with Two Thyme in the morning and...

Retraining a Racehorse- Advice:Will i be fighting a losing battle?

Totally echo the plug for the Pessoa, I bought Gates 12 months ago off the track, very thin and quite broken - very sore back but clean limbed. Used the pessoa 3/4 times a week for the first 6 weeks and it really helped him - i'm not one for gadgets but I wouldn't be without that now! I did 5...

ex BE course in Wales is it still there?

Erwlon? I think thats how you spell it. No idea where it was as it was before my driving days but It was a family run course that was possibly BHTA. I lived Brecon area and possibly would have travelled a couple of hours.....

Horse Height v Rider Height question.

I'm 6ft 1 and Gates is a very narrow 16.3 - but I can look bigger on something 17.2! I think a lot of it is down to horse and rider shape and how 'lightly' the rider rides.....

    Anyone At Howick?

We were coming home to Wales for a few days so decided to bring 'donkey' (a very affectionate term) down and give him a run at Howick. Journey took 8 hours though bless him, although he was very fresh today when I worked him - despite having come off the trailer with two loose shoes...

If you could have a lesson on any horse in your discipline...

I absolutely love my lessons with Ruth Edge on my own donkey, but otherwise it would have to be Ginny Elliot and Priceless or Murphy Himself - what a character! Definitely need the time capsule though!

Anyone have a treeless saddle? also in NL

Personally I would avoid like the plague, but then that is just a personal opinion. I worked for a Master Saddler for sometime who had a lot to do with the development of some of the 'newer' brands of saddles and I got to see pressure testing and saddles in pieces regularly.......quite scary...

    How do you keep motivated?

I too have these moments, by the time i get home from work, get the baby sorted and off to bed, get some tea do household chores, sometimes i just think I can't be bothered! But it's actually my horse that keeps me motivated, how hard he tries at everything I've asked him to do, and how grateful...

    Anyone at Hutton?

[ QUOTE ] BE90 too - would you like me to put course pics up or have you walked it already? [/ QUOTE ] Thats really kind thanks, but I did go and walk it today, it's not far for me so it made it easier to do it today and then just get there and ride in the morning - well, try to anyway! Good...

    Anyone at Hutton?

[ QUOTE ] ELF - which class are you doing? [/ QUOTE ] BE90, plenty for me these days on my very inexperienced ex racehorse who took a dislike to showjumping two weeks ago - and i ended up on the deck - so little apprehensive!! you?

    Anyone at Hutton?

I am - early start and just finished getting things ready (oh for the days when I didn't have to get my 14 month old to bed before plaiting the horse lol!) Slightly nervous tonight.... Good luck to everyone else competing!

    Greenlands BSJA report & Propics!

Lovely horse! I'm having trouble with my jumping position full stop at the moment, your photos look good! I went to Greenlands last wednesday to school over the showjumps and ditches cross country, the waterers had been on but seemingly left in the same place for hours as most of it was rock...
