My feet used to get really cold in the winter. Someone on here recommended Ariat Artic Tall. They are the best boots i have ever bought. My feet stayed warm - even with thin socks on. They are great to ride in too. Waterproof and everything! They certainly get my vote!

My mare has just had one too - lot of it about at the moment for some reason. My farrier opened it up and i hot poulticed it for 4/5 days - then i dry poulticed it for a few more days to dry it up a bit. I would not be happy leaving it open. You are right - dirt could just go straight back up...

I agree - although it has rained a lot. We have got off quite lightly here. And they really look after their ground there too. I am jump judging tomorrow afternoon. I've got a blue freelander and a stupid looking boxer so give me a wave! Good luck!
