I hope you're doing okay xx
I am ok thank you! Trying very very hard to stay in the present and succeeding mostly but it’s still tough at times. I’ve become quite good at having a quiet little sob whilst riding for 30 seconds or so haha.

Having fun on this tough little Arab mare, I feel bad for her as I look so tall on her! She seemed fine with my weight though given she was a forward, spicy little thing.

And it’s been amazing to have such close encounters with some of the animals on the conservancy.

You do look tall but there's nothing to you so id not feel bad at all.

Those encounters look so amazing truly something to never be forgotten.

No you are right. I really thought I was losing the plot when I first thought his eye was different. Not helped by him having to have a tear duct flushed out as it was blocked (but the other unaffected eye was the same).

The eye changed before the physical things became more apparent.
the change in eye influenced the timing of both my last two PTS decision. And not everyone IME can see it even those around in person. But when you see it and know, it is clear.

Landing in Denver for the first time since, and my Bog pony is no longer there to look forward to coming back too 💔 gosh it’s hard sometimes. Also very very tired having gone straight to a two day work meeting off a long, long haul back from Africa so obviously that makes things more overly emotional.

But yeh, damn. Feeling very glad the cabin lights are dimmed until we get properly to the gate so I can have a quiet sob!

I think a big hot chocolate with tons of cream in the airport may be in order 😊

"First times" are awful to face but once they are done then you never have to do them again. It will all be so hard but you have a little ginger nut there who needs you and all the love and experience you gained through Bog - that is some legacy and some inheritance.

Yeah.. it's 3am (jet lag) and I'm feeling very edgy about going to the barn. Will be the first time I've been back since I just got in my car and drove right after Bog was PTS. Looking forward to hugging Atlas but kinda nervous at the same time.

He’s really, really cute and engaging to be around and I’m very glad I have him. My spirits are truly lifted after hanging out with him today! He follows me everywhere. Thank goodness for him.

I also checked he was happy to load and stand and unload and he was great. So I feel less worried about the solo 14 hr drive over the weekend!
