How is this vet allowed to conduct themselves like this online?

Hind gut ulcers do exist! It’s not up for discussion as to whether they do/they don’t exist, because they are there to be observed on PM.

My hind gut ulcer horse was helped hugely re her management by my former Leahurst vet, who has first hand found hind gut ulcers present at PM in many horses. As she said, they must have been causing considerable discomfort while the horse was still alive.

What, if any, CPD does shouty vet do to be so unaware of current veterinary thinking?

I think she's probably happy in her little bubble where everybody she deals with thinks she's god and nobody dares to question anything. She seems to have a mentor from one of the hospitals (or does he just humour her, who knows!), but she doesn't appear to have any friends, professional or otherwise.

Where is this woman based so we can make sure we avoid her?

One of our local vets follows her I’ve noticed… I don’t think much of them either!

It's really easy to find out who she is, just from looking at a few of the screenshots on here and looking on teh Fesse-Boucs for posts containing the text shown.

(shhh! don't tell anybody, but there's even a screenshot on here that shows her personal name and her commercial name...)

Again, the most recent post showing how ridiculous she is - don't you lay people ever think about breeding from your mare, it's totally fine for big breeding operations to do it though.

Oh, and by the way, here's a photo of one of my two own homebreds...

And why the obsession with c-sections?!

Yup I started off reading it and agreeing she had good points but she should have ended it there

I just quickly search for her on FB and one of her posts came up from 2021 where an ex client had called her a narcissistic vet  🤣 - 650 clients on her list apparently - HOW??

I only wanted to see what she wrote about breeding, but I just find the tone of her messages so arrogant. I must admit I do agree with most of what she put in the post, but 'it's all about me' isn't it.

That's exactly it - and that's why most things she writes can never be balanced, because it's usually a case of 'Do as I say, not as I do, and don't ever forget that I am on a different level to all you lesser mortals'.

My point wasn't that I disagree with all the points about not breeding from a mare because of xyz, it was just that that post is a prime example of the attitude with which she conducts herself. Some points that are reasonable interspersed with a person being about as far from balanced and reasonable as one could get!

Ah, it's been a while... Dictating - sorry, discussing?! - feeding horses at different times of the day - apparently only less than an hour either way occasionally is acceptable or something.

SV: It’s absolutely an issue, yes, unless it’s a tiny handful of feed. A hard feed (unless a bucket of chaff) is very different to hay, and digested differently. Hay also doesn’t fill the stomach like a bucket of hard feed does. A horse also needs correct vitamins and minerals regardless of whether he/she is in work, so feeding should be 365.
It’s extremely rare to see good quality ad lib hay fed 24/7, especially in a field, where it quickly gets wet/muddy and inedible...

SV: It’s not good, or recommended practice. Horses should be fed at the same time every day.

SV: I’m afraid you can’t use a horse’s temperament as a reason/excuse for not feeding a horse at set times every day.

The last in response to someone explaining that their horse got very stressed when she did have a set feed time.

So, overall, tell us you don't feed and manage your horses in a way which supports their natural lifestyle and needs without actually telling us that... And be disparaging about the concept that others do...

In other news, Mabel is apparently 'quite heavy on her front feet'. Now why could that be?!
