Aside from the problems she has caused people, I actually feel sorry for someone who is so screwed up in the head that she will leave that property for fear of a few horse riders looking over her fence. We have a local who is similar and has caused immense trouble by trying to prevent the lawful development, and then use as a holiday rental, of the property on the other side of the road from her. These people are not well, they have mental health issues.

But I'm glad you have got your right of way back.

I'm so glad you've got your route back. But I feel really sorry that someone is that messed up.

Gorgeous house and views. I would be sorely tempted if I thought I could get my hutch sorted and sold quickly enough.

My concern is that the estate agent is advertising as a private lane. Which it is not. It’s a lane with no owner. Michelle contested change of use to R Byway and it’s still on going. Council from Bristol have to come and visit etc. apparently could take another year ! So .. any new owner could shut the gate and padlock Michelle opened gate a week
Ago. So I was able to ride today without having to get off. First time in two years ! Do I ring estate agents? F612F8B3-79EE-4309-AC2B-2DA6450EB130.jpeg

I think you should ring and then follow up with an email. We did that when a house was sold with a parking space, on a private lane, when there was no space and access was recorded across the width and length of the lane.

Update .. logged complaint with police after she tried to shut gate onto my horse. They spoke to her. Long list of complaints to them. Told to still use lane. Another encounter from her who said the council had banned horses. Rung council. They said definitely not as it was a. In process of becoming a registered byway and b. as the lane has no owner, they can’t stop folk using it. Today …. House has gone up for sale !! View attachment 88084

Ooh that’s a nice house. I can’t afford it and have no particular need to move away from where I currently live but I would buy it if I could and be very welcoming to anyone who wanted to hack past my house! hopefully any new owners won’t be like the current owner. I hope you get the estate agents sorted with correct details.

The way I read those details is that it's a private lane but it is NOT owned by the property. The owner of the property will only have access to their property via the lane. Didn't someone say earlier in this thread that the lane is owned by a farm? As others have said the conveyancing process will expose the ongoing dispute over the right of way access. I very much doubt the agent will change the property details.

. The lane has no owner. So not really private. I could drive my car down there and park by her house. It was an old single track road that led to some old houses that were demolished yonks back.

Usual verbal abuse. Told her to get a life and as she’s selling .. what’s the point?! Was trying to leg it to the gate to shut it on before my friend could get back on. She’s crazy !
