I currently have six sponsors, or several other companies who have made one off donations to me, so I've had a bit of experience on the relationship side of things.
Firstly, my website clearly sets out what I want and why, I don't think you can justify asking for a sponsor without these things...
I do, but I do (fairly :p) high dressage so I'm expected to do transitions with pinpoint accuracy. I use them on every ride :)
On Lil and Bella I used Waterfords, because both were very hot horses who didn't need so much, with Ru I use Prince of Wales because he can take a bit more encouragement.
I never really got it until I started riding Ru, who is very talented and previously did GP whereas I'm a graded Para' riding at a lower level. I always figure his owner must see something in me to let me compete him, and if someone with so much experience who has bred some of America's best...
