We never had much hair in the house from 2 Border terriers and 1 smooth coated lurcher BUT.....when we added a labrador to the family we are hoovering every day.
I shall keep my OH away from this thread as e is trying to persuade me that having a Glouscester Old Spot sow and breeding piglets is a better idea than the occasional weaner LOL

We have never had any problems with whippets, greyhounds, lurchers and hounds and cats. The cats were there firts and the dogs learnt to respect them.
We are looking for another dog and whippet is top of the list.
One of our Border Terriers has phantom pregnancies and 'adopts' a soft toy to baby. This toy is carried around and loved until the phantom is over - and then it has the stuffing ripped out of it
My daughter went to look at rental places, was enthusiastic and THEN asked if a dog was OK - she got the first one she tried for and it is perfect for her lab.
