    Are my plans really mean?

To those who think there is a psychological element to allergies, what a load of rubbish. I am desperately allergic to horses (and hay, grass, dust, cats, dogs) and have been since I started riding 25 years ago. At various times I have been in floods of tears that it just isn't fair that my one...

Are there some horses that just cannot work "correctly"?

Thanks KK. I don't think her owner is really bothered enough to put the hard work in, and after all why should she as they are both happy enough having fun out hacking with the occasional local show thrown in. I just wonder, with the right work for long enough, if she could change but guess I...

Are there some horses that just cannot work "correctly"?

I'm not fixed on the head carriage but to me it is part of a horse working correctly and accepting a soft, even contact. I don't like to see overbent horses with their heads pinned down either! I suppose I was interested in whether it was her conformation that meant she couldn't flex from the...

Are there some horses that just cannot work "correctly"?

I think with her it is a conformational issue as even if on the ground you "push" her nose towards her chest gently there is very little flex there. She really is very thick around her throat and neck is very short. But, as you say Wagtail, I thought this must be very unusual and was interested...

Are there some horses that just cannot work "correctly"?

Random musings whilst bored at work. Are there some horses that just cannot physically work in an "outline" despite correct schooling? Before I left the UK I was riding a friends 13 year old, Heinz cob ex riding school mare. She has never in her life been worked correctly and motorbikes round...

LEZ How wrong - Any help or advice pls

Not being familiar with LEZ I have just had a quick read up on it. The whole thing seems like a nonsense to me and it is this sort of ridiculous legislation that make me glad I left the UK! Seems like an older vehicle is the answer.....

    E&L insurance

I have never claimed from them and am no longer insured with them so can't comment on their service re paying out. But a word of warning NONE of the vets in my area will deal with E&L and all require payment upfront in full if insured with E&L. So potentially if you were faced with a 2 or 3k...

    Paranormal activity???

My best friend (Katy) grew up in a house with her Mum and 2 sisters which was certainly haunted. From a very young age her older sister would play with a little girl who was scared of the TV and was fascinated by looking at the cars outside as they didn't have them in her time. I have heard...

Advice Wanted - It's all gone wrong!

Having been kicked last week by a horse on our yard who does exactly this I would suggest you try a chifney. That is the only thing that will stop this horse from spinning and deliberately kicking out to get you. He is 12 years old and owner has tried everything, the chifney is the only thing he...
